This mayonnaise maker jar was distributed by Wesson Oil Company as early as the 1930′s. I have the very ones that belonged to my grandmothers.
One Egg
2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice (or vinegar)
1 teaspoon each of: mustard, salt, & sugar
Dash of pepper
1 Pint of Wesson Oil
Beat thoroughly as the oil is poured from the bottle
There’s nothing like the real thing made from scratch and immediately spread on a slice of bread, folded in half and eaten that very minute the mayo was ready – Mmmmmm – mayonnaise sandwiches!
The only mayonnaise that comes close to homemade in my book is Helman’s.
Enjoy!
